The Healing Power of Love

Perhaps, by now, you've heard the saying, “Love heals all wounds.” After having spent over 12 years doing hands-on healing work, I would say that is very true. When doing hands-on healing, the healing practitioner becomes a channel for life force energy. It is this life force energy that animates us and gives us life. Without it, we can become ill.

Time after time, I have seen people make a turnaround in a challenging health situation. Sometimes it is very quickly, sometimes it takes a bit longer. This life force energy is the same as the quality of love. The healing practitioner holds a very high frequency or vibration of this life force energy, or love and the person needing the healing begins to match this frequency of love, like a magnet, and that is how the healing occurs.

Every one responds to the power of love, no matter who they are. It is only when we are lacking in love for ourselves that illness can take hold. Of course, it is up to the person receiving the healing as to whether they accept or reject the loving, healing energy being offered. But, most times, people respond very well and healing occurs. The more loving we are towards ourselves, he healthier we will be.

Try for one day having nothing but loving thoughts, when ever possible. As you do, you will find that life will flow much easier for you. Instead of being a struggle, life will flow with ease and grace, as it was meant to. Become a channel for love in your own life and see what a difference it makes.

Initiation in Reiki

The Reiki Level 1 Attunement or Initiation opens up the physical body and makes it a channel for Reiki energy to flow through it. An initiation process doesn't take a lot of time as one might assume, though it can be different it take to a maximum of 20-30 minutes and makes a person “high” and greatly increases the spiritual vibrations in the body to a point where the initiate's energy merges with the One. The Reiki Level 2 Attunement or Initiation is for the subtle body or the aura. The three sacred symbols of Reiki are disclosed to the initiate and this attunement gives the initiate even a higher level of energy vibrations and is said to increase psychic vibrations. The Master Initiation is a process after which a person achieves the status of Mater and is now able to teach Reiki and initiate others into the art.

Though initiation is just a ritual, its powers keep developing over time and mature with time and experience and constant practice of this healing system.

Reiki initiations are a main focus Reiki. They help us to understand the standing of the novice entering into the Reiki clan. Also they define the starting point at which the initiate opens up their personal energies to the Universe. In this way they can invite unlimited healing energies from the Universe and raise their vibrations to a frequency that attunes with the Universal Consciousness. Therefore they can become more sensitive to not only other Reiki healers across the planet but also Reiki guides in the form of spirits from the astral plane.

The actual number of initiations are different for the different branches of Reiki. For the original style of Reiki there are four initiations in the First Level, one in the Second Level and a last one for the Master Level after which it is possible for the Master to perform initiations for the First Level or First Degree initiates. The power of an Attunement or Initiation lasts with a person for life; it is not something that can wear away with time.

The pain of Rheumatoid Arthritis can be annoying, depressing and physically debilitating. The activities that you once took for granted are suddenly difficult and even peeling potatoes or walking to the shops can become a challenge.

Cleaning the shower can be so painful that you wonder what you will be like in another 10 years.

Assuming that you have now realized that you have a problem and have seen a doctor, been referred to a Rheumatology Consultant, had various blood tests and had a positive diagnosis, then it is likely that you will be on a combination of medications to reduce inflammation, pain and to try and slow down the relentless attack of your immune system on your own body.

If you are lucky you may experience relief with very few side effects. And then you start reading the long term impact of your medications and you begin to worry. If you are unlucky, your medication may make you ill and you begin to wonder what is worse – the disease or the treatment. Even if you do not suffer too many side effects, some days you may find that the pain just will not go away. You are stiff and sore and fed up. There are so many things to do, but you are just so tired from coping with the pain.

Reiki is non-invasive and can be performed by anyone. Yes, anyone. You can see a Reiki practitioner, or actually learn Reiki for yourself, which gives you the freedom of giving yourself a treatment when ever you need it. To use Reiki, it is commonly accepted that you need to be attuned by a Reiki Master. This can be achieved in many ways, in person on a course, distantly with a combination of a Reiki Master and training manuals or you can even self attune with guidance from a Reiki Master experienced in training this method.

Studies have shown that Reiki does reduce pain. The effects can be felt surprisingly quickly and can last throughout the day.

Sam Osborn

I have suffered with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 9 years, most of them without realizing what the problem was. Prescribed medication has put me in hospital with life threatening side effects. Studying Reiki has helped me to reduce my painkiller intake.

One of the claims that we can make with Reiki is that it will help reduce stress. Ask anyone who has had at least one Reiki treatment and they will agree. Having a 15-minute Reiki treatment is like having a power nap. After the treatment you feel refreshed and vitalized.

What is better is when you are a Reiki practitioner and you can then do Reiki on yourself. Just a 10-minute self-treatment can cause you to relax very quickly. As most doctors will agree, stress is a big contributing factor to many illnesses. So, learning to nip stress in the bud can obviously help you remain healthier in the long term.

So, stress reduction is only as far away as your hands. What a gift that would be.
